Cecilia Escobar - Founder & President of Smart Accounting Solutions, Inc.
Having been in the industry for over 35 years, Cecilia Escobar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Smart Accounting Solutions, Inc. She has held management and executive-level roles for multiple entertainment payroll companies including Media Services and Axium and was the Vice-President of Payroll Operations for the largest payroll service provider, Entertainment Partners.
In addition to working for major payroll companies, Cecilia has freelanced as a payroll and production accountant on major motion pictures and studios for over 25 years. In 2015, Cecilia left the corporate world and founded SAS, Inc in her garage, never looking back. Seeing the need for more qualified payroll accountants, in 2017 she launched THE Entertainment Payroll Program, a 6-week course that certifies you to be able to get into the Entertainment Payroll industry. She frequently lectures at UCLA Extension Classes and for the University of Oklahoma Film Division. Cecilia is a member of multiple industry associations including N.A.L.I.P., Women in Films, Hispanic Professionals, I.N.C.A.A., and various film and television groups.
Cecilia is the mother of two young children, Ryan and Emma. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, sipping on a ristretto, rowing on her machine, and managing her non-profit, Sandbar Sanctuary (sandbarsanctuary.org)
